What is Aesthetic Surgery?

Aesthetic surgery is a branch of plastic surgery which adheres to these 4 universal aesthetic principles:

  1. Beauty – visual
  2. Grace – functional
  3. Longevity – temporal
  4. Serenity – emotional

First, to achieve the appearance of beauty, aesthetic surgeons apply appropriately well recognized beauty templates on patients throughout the various stages of their lives.  Their surgical techniques are designed to:

  1. Restore fading beauty due to aging,
  2. Renovate absence of beauty due to birth defects,
  3. Reconstruct lost beauty after injuries or diseases,

All the while, leaving the patients with little to no visible scars or distortions.

Secondly, during surgery, aesthetic surgeons understand how each and every muscle’s in the operative field functions, how the surround sagging and distorted soft tissue it inserts and activates affect its normal behavior, and how to preserve, restore and enhance its original function.

A successful aesthetic surgical outcome is measured by the achievement and enhancement of beauty and grace in patients that will last a long time, say up to 15 years or longer.  Then, we will have many serenely attractive, confident and happy patients.

Any surgery that fails these ideals is not aesthetic surgery!
